Questions from the field
You wanted to know…
Who are the Rangers?
The Rangers are a group of young adults who had to step up to save the world.
Does Fenrir pee in the corner?
Fenrir is a wolf truck fused with Pulse energy. He acts like a dog, and he is territorial. You can ask him about the corner. We’re not volunteering to clean up.
What is Ghost Protocol?
Well, if you break it, you won’t remember.
Are Lauren and Jemma based on real people?
Yes. Lauren and Jemma are Xander’s real sisters. They were written into the books to show family loyalty.
Meet the Scribe
Who is Brian Paul?

I’m Brian Paul, The Scribe, and the story of The Pulse Rangers began with my son, Xander.
I wrote the original story 14 years ago, when Xander was a street dancer with his crew, Pulsationz. They won the under-18 category at a UDO (United Dance Organisation) competition in Glasgow. I wrote the story for him, to help him on his journey, but it was never published.
Thirteen years later, I published it to try to raise funds for the next chapter of his life: his motorcycle racing career.
The stories are inspired by Xander and my love of the films and TV shows I grew up with, including Starship Troopers, Airwolf and The A-Team, alongside games such as Halo, Gears of War and Fallout.
From the dance floor to the racetrack, Xander is the reason these books exist.
The real Xander: the reason these books were written.
These are photographs of the real Xander on track. I published the books to help fund his motorcycle racing in Scotland in the PI600 class. He started on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, which features in Book Five. For the 2027 season, he’ll be racing a 1999 Yamaha R6.
